High-Quality Crestron Conference Technology
at the Hamburg Brahms Kontor

Directly across from the Laeiszhalle, a historical gem meets the highest modern office standards: the meticulously renovated BRAHMS KONTOR is one of Hamburg’s premier examples of expressionist brick architecture. Upon its completion, it was the tallest office building in Hamburg. With its clean lines, it continues to symbolize the city’s proud Kontorhaus tradition.

Subtle integration of high-quality conference room technology, even in the heritage-protected areas. The fusion of classic and modern elements makes the BRAHMS KONTOR a unique office building in Hamburg. The building’s distinct character is also evident in the event space that opened in early 2012. Covering more than 500 square meters, the venue offers both historically preserved rooms and state-of-the-art meeting areas. Designed by Hennings Börn Interieurs, the spaces feature premium furnishings, an impressive lighting concept, and cutting-edge conference technology, all harmoniously blended to maintain the 1920s style.

The project was planned and implemented by the DataVision North Branch, a licensed Crestron System Partner for many years. Since there was no prior media technology in place, a complete rewiring was required, utilizing standard CAT cables. The second floor of the Brahms Kontor includes twelve rooms equipped with various video and audio conferencing solutions, including two small rooms specifically designed for video conferencing.

The media technology installation in the four historical rooms was particularly challenging, as it had to comply with strict heritage protection regulations.

Crestron DigitalMedia™ distributes all analog and digital video, audio, and control data.
For signal transmission and management, DataVision utilized DigitalMedia™ with the modular DM-MD16X16 multimedia matrix as the central component. DigitalMedia™ handles all communication and control data transmitted via HDMI, DVI, DisplayPort, and VGA.

Simple Operation, Flexible Room Configuration
The programming was kept as simple as possible to ensure user-friendly operation via Crestron’s wall-mounted (TPS-4L) and tabletop (TPS-6) touch panels. One of the requirements for displays and projection screens was their flexibility, leading to the creation of mobile projection screens and a display cart as custom-built solutions.

Particular emphasis was placed on selecting high-quality materials for tables and lighting fixtures to seamlessly integrate with the overall room aesthetics. The elegant appearance was maintained by integrating conference call technology into the tables to avoid disrupting the visual appeal.
